Merchant Settings
Visit Setup >> Merchant

There are lot's of settings in the Merchant setup area for you to customize. You can always come back to them later to edit them. Right now we're simply going to set the main, important areas. We highly encourage you to revisit this page at a later time and date to review the settings.
Setup your merchant (company) name and email. This will appear on the top of the screen when you checkout and will be used widely through emails and other cart pages. The email here will also be the one that will be used to send order notifications as well as your default 'from' email. It's common to enter something like orders @ something.com for autoresponders and mailing lists, you can customize the from email. This is just the global default. If the system doesn't find any other email to use, it'll use this one.

Next if you're using a merchant account or third party system like 2CheckOut, select your system and your merchant ID given to you by your merchant account providers. If you're using PayPal as well, select it here. Do not forget to enter your PayPal email address. If you're using recurring payments, use PayPal. Otherwise, you may turn it off here.

If you'd like to be notified everytime some attempts to order (but doesn't complete) the order, select yes in the attempted order dropdown. Note, we recommend turning this off as it can be a huge distraction and you may get more emails than you care for.
Default Followup is where you'd like to move a customer into when she orders from you. This is a powerful feature as it can help you build a master customer list. We recommend you set this to all or none but add them to a general customer list. You cannot select this if you've not set up a followup list yet so you'll want to come back to this later.

These boxes will help you customize your order emails and general header/footer of your shopping cart. We recommend you at least set a generic message in the first box. This email is sent out after an order, on top of the order detail information (not shown here). Take time to write a personal message here.
